My mother is really one of the best moms a girl could ask for. I am so grateful for all the kindness and graciousness she shows me, and the love she gives our whole family.
She is the one who plans activities we all can enjoy together, helps to make special memories, reminds us of the importance of family and really makes us feel at home wherever she is.
It's funny, I started looking through my iphoto account to pull a few pictures of her for the post. It doesn't go back very far as we ran out of room and had to burn off some cds. But as you will see in the photo selection, pretty much all the pictures I have of my mom are when she is with family. And I think that says a lot about her. Family is important to my mom, and it makes me feel special and very loved to know that I have such high priority with her.
Just this past weekend, my parents were down, and busy as bees with all the things going on. But my mom and dad took the time to go to our apartment and work on our place to help us out. We came in this morning, and my mom had stained the entire deck for us. That is a backbreaking job for someone half her age, but she did it, and did a darned good job too.
She has helped us with every single move we've had (that's a lot!), and she is always willing to help out whenever and wherever she can.
She gives me advice when I ask for it, and prays for me when I have too much pride to ask myself for the help I need.
She is a wonderful mother, a great example of a Christian wife and I hope that some day I can be half the woman she is.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
