So ever since I was little, I've had the same hair. It's always been long, usually kinda messy, and brown. I've sometimes hated it that way, usually liked it but mostly been indifferent about it.

(This is me displaying a step counter for a contest we had at work. I'm so lame...)
My coworkers have been suggesting for quite some time that I get a cut. I agreed, I just never seemed to get around to it. Weekends are so precious, I hated the thought of spending any time of it getting a cut.
However, recently my publisher offered to take us all to the spa for the afternoon, as a 'good job employees' type of thing. One signed up for a massage, another for a facial, another for a pedicure. Me, I went for the cut and colour.

I looked at hair websites, googled hairstyles, and even bought a hair magazine. As I stood in the line at 7-11 holding 'this year's top hair styles' type magazine (the only one the store had), I myself could not believe that was me buying one of those silly magazines.
Here were a few I found online that I thought I might like on my own head.

Hubby was going to take a few pictures of me for a before and after type thing, but never did. So just before I went to the spa to meet the girls, I plunked the camera down and got a few of myself.

(I look a little creepy in these pictures!)

Anyway, everyone at the spa had quite a bit of fun watching as about 8 inches of my hair cascaded to the floor. I got it layered and a bit of a side bang added in, then had red and caramel streaks put into my hair.
I must say, I was quite pleased with the result in the spa, although it hasn't looked the same since. Hubby also did not take any photos of me when I got home, but here's a couple from the next day.
