A Light unto our path

On Saturday we made our first real purchase for the trip. Blessings was having a sale on Bibles so we went down and picked up two travel-sized Bibles. I absolutely LOVE mine. The pattern on the front is so cool, it's easy to read, a nice size and most important, lightweight. Justin's has an uber cool Celtic design on the front of his, so we're both happy with what we've picked.

It's an exciting purchase for a few reasons. It's the first real thing we've bought for the trip, so that's special. But it's mostly exciting because this is really the most important thing we'll be taking with us. The quickdry clothes, the compact sleeping bags, the notebooks, recorder, cameras etc are all a necessary part of this journey. But our Bibles are God's Word given to us. His Word is a light unto our path, a lamp unto our feet. And with space in our bags being such a big issue, we probably won't be carrying much else in terms of reading material so I can see us both spending a lot of time getting deeper into our Bibles on our trip.
