Only in Cranbrook...

Wow, I can't believe it's been two months since I last blogged. That is crazy how fast time has flown by.
Anyway, cleaning out some folders this morning since I'm out of room on my working drive and came across this. Enjoy!

You Know You're From Cranbrook When . . .

1. You feel you are an expert on what a good pot hole is, EX. "The pot hole on 3rd is much worse than this one."

2. You can clearly identify the three great mountains of the town- Cranbrook Mt, Mt. Baker and Fisher Peak.

3. You tell tales of life before Wal-Mart!

4. You remember seeing films at the Armond theatre

5. We remain divided as to which is the better tobogganing hill - Idlewilde or St. Mary's

6. You know everyone in your grade, the grade below you and the grade above you.

7. Everybody dis's The Cranbrook Mall

8. You know everyone's cars and can get in trouble for driving your parents' car too fast because someone they know spotted you driving

9. You know what all your friends wear snowboarding and are able to call to them from the quad chair.

10. You get excited when you go to Calgary for back to school shopping and you get to ride the escalator.

11. When you're coming back from Jim Smith and there is a train you'll always try to beat it at 7-11 or even Walmart

12. -Lillix- (doesn't even deserve wit)

13. The best coffee shops in town are local - KRC, Hotshots, Max's Place.

14. You speed up to hit the bump on 30th and hope your head doesn't hit the roof.

15.you joked you'd die from mercury poisoning before graduating from gr 12

16. In elementary school you heard stories of Parkland wall's being made of cardboard

17. Candy Cane lane is a must see EVERY Christmas.

18.You have three hockey rinks on one street, and nobody thinks that is weird.

19. The old pool and wooden skate park is a fading memory - yet the apple machine lives on forever!

20. Parloff was ran in the Murial Baxtar field when it was still an actual el. school.

21. The Highlands run included the path between 7th street and Idlewild - before they built houses on it.

22. Track and feild day in June for all the schools - including St. Mary's

23.Your grade 3 class would all go down to Crestbrook gym to preform a poem you'd been working on for weeks, for speech arts.

24. Whenever you drive by your old schools, you always note that the equipment isn't made of wood that gave you massive slivers anymore. But you still believe its better than the metal colourful stuff they have replaced it with now.

25. The two great (and only) parades of the town are the Santa Clause Parade, and the Sam Steele Parade.

26. You still remember the soccer team you were on when you were 5. (personally I was a badger).

27. You were always told to avoid joseph's creek during spring run off - and told stories of people drowning.

28. When a street finally gets re-paved you know it will take the city weeks/months before it'll be completely done.

29. The fort steele Jawbreakers from the candy shop would last you over a year.
