Promise, you turned five months old on Saturday! It's hard to believe in one month you'll be half a year already. Time sure does fly when you're busy raising kids.
We moved you from the cradle in our room to your own room this last month (check date...) You did just fine with the move, seeming to enjoy your new crib and your very own bedroom. While Mommy loved having you in our room, where I could peek over at you any time, pop the soother back in umpteen times a night and gently soothe you when needed, it was definitely time to get you in your own space.

Last day in your cradle
For your five month "birthday," we got rid of your soother. I know, it's not what you were asking for but it's definitely what you, and Mommy, needed. You loved that little piece of plastic but would spit it out and then want it back. Over and over and over and over again. All. Through. The. Night.

No-soother sleeper
So we're currently on day #4 of "sleep training" you, which is basically getting you on a four hour routine that includes two longer naps a day and one catnap at dinner. It's going OK, not great but we'll get through this. The toughest part so far has been Daddy going back to work today and Mommy trying to take care of Isaac and get you to sleep and stay asleep for your naptimes.
We put you in the swing at the park for the first time on Saturday. You seemed to enjoy it, happily watching us make silly faces and sounds at you as you swung towards us. It doesn't seem that long ago we were swinging your brother as a baby and now he's so big, he's started to enjoy swinging on the big kid swings!

At home, we put you in the jumparoo a few times. You're very tiny in it still, so Mommy put a couch cushion under your feet to prop you up. I think it will be a fun toy when you get bigger.

We also put you in the jolly jumper a couple times this last month. You definitely enjoyed it, but we haven't done it much since we need to hang out upstairs for you to jump.

This was us testing you in it downstairs, then we moved you upstairs to jump in Isaac's doorway. Those pix are on Daddy's camera, which means they will never see the light of day :)
Mommy tries to get out with you and Isaac often, though not this week as we're staying home to attempt to get you on a regular napping and eating schedule. We go to a Women's Bible study every Tuesday, a playgroup every Wednesday, church on Sundays, Grandma and Grandpa's about once a week when they're here, grocery shopping / errands one day and Daddy is home Friday to Sunday so we always try to do something fun in there like go to the park or for a hike. We pray that you and your brother wil grow up being kind and loving to other kids and learn good social skills early on. We also pray that you develop some strong friendships that will last you a lifetime. We even pray already for your future husband, that he will be a man of God who will love you mightily, trust God wholeheartedly and be a wonderful husband, father, provider and friend. Here you are with your good friend Alex:

You are such a content little baby. Mommy took you and Isaac for a walk one day in the stroller. When we left, it was barely raining but after a couple blocks it turned into a downpour. While I walked home as quickly as I could, I was pretty wet when we got back to our carport. I had put the sunshade over you but it obviously isn't meant for rain because when I got home, you were quite wet! Yet you didn't voice one complaint the whole way home, and smiled at me when I started talking to you.

Promise, you are a very happy baby and even when you're tired, you tend to just roll with things (until you get really overtired. Then nobody has fun). You continue to be our joy-filled baby and we love that you are a part of our family. You truly are a precious child of God and we thank Him every day for bringing you into our lives. Love you little Missy!
